Classic Authors: Emily Dickinson

Mar 9, 1999 - © Susan Jensen

Emily died of kidney disease on May 15, 1886, shortly following the deaths of her young nephew and a devoted friend, perhaps a love interest. It was only after her death and the publication of her hidden poems, that Emily gained respect and attention as a great American poet.

The Emily Dickinson homepage at http://www.planet.net/pkrisxle/emily/dic... is the best resource on the Web for learning about Emily. It contains a plethora of links to biographies, pictures, her letters and work.
