"What Men Live By": An Obscure Story by Leo Tolstoy

Tolstoy's story is sweet and simple. It expounds on an oft-used moral, but tells a unique tale. Perhaps it is too sentimental, but it leaves the reader feeling touched and uplifted. I came upon this story while browsing in a used bookstore. It's a worn little volume with very little publishing information enclosed. Although I searched the library for any commentary on the story, I didn't find it mentioned anywhere. If anyone knows anything about it, please contact me. There are many web sites on Leo Tolstoy, but a good source for general information can be found at http://www.mala.bc.ca/~mcneil/tolstoy.ht...
