This article is a short story review of Courier and Ives by Edward D. Hoch. This is an excellent short story. I enjoy reading Edward D. Hoch' short stories. This is a classic mystery story. It was published in the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine in November, 2002. I bought a few of them back then, and then I decided to start reading them again. I recently found the magazine and started reading the story. I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did if you enjoy classic mysteries.

Courier and Ives features Walt Stanton and Juliet Ives. Walt went to see Andrew Kogan, about a job and going to Europe with Juliet. Wast was going to be transporting a package to London. He didn't know what was in the package, but he agreed to do it. He was to meet Miss Gordon, Kogan's secretray, at the airport. She was going to give him the ticket and hotel voucher. They were to leave on Saturday. As a result of Walt being a courier, then Juliet looked at them as Courier and Ives.

After they met Miss Gordon, Walt was told privately to be careful. The last courier was murdered. When they arrived in London, a man met walt, but walt didn't trust him. He quickly grabbed the package and went to a taxi. Walt and Juliet went to their hotel. They opened the package and found a bowling ball.

Later on, a woman named Lisa Dulwich came to see walt and Juliet. She pulled a gun on them, and Walt got it from her. After they talked, she found out it was the wrong package.

When Walt and Juliet were walking, he realized they were being followed by Kogan's secretary. She said she and Kogan flew to London. She invited them to their hotel. Walt and Juliet were suspcious of everything now.

They met that evening in Kogan'ts hotel. When tehy returned to the hotel, they were questionsed by an inspector. Leo Nevsky had been murdered. After that, they went out to eat. On the way back, Juliet was almost hit by a car. Now, you'll have to read the story to find out what happened.

I enjoyed this story. Anyone who enjoys classic mysteries will enjoy this story. It was well written and kept me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen to Walt and Juliet.

The Ellery Queen Mystery Magazines have excellent stories. You can purchase them through bookstores or through the publisher. I highly recommend these magazines.
