Theda Bara Part II

a tantalizing glimpse of a quiet woman who shocked and delighted the post-Victorian world.

Movies to see:
A Fool There Was (1915)
The Unchastened Woman (1925)
Madame Mystery (1926)

These are the Theda Bara movies that can be found on video. I've seen these titles available on online auctions, through the library, and from Grapevine Video

Books to read:
*Vamp: The Rise and Fall of Theda Bara, by Eve Golden
Theda Bara: A Biography of the Silent Screen Vamp, With a Filmography, by Ronald Genini

Both of these biographies are worth reading, but I prefer the Golden book; it's more detailed and the research is stronger. While Genini's book is an interesting and mostly factual read, he seems to have fallen for a lot of the bogus press about Theda, while Golden dug deeper to find something a little closer to the truth.
