Cover Girl (1944) One day during a lunch break in the production of this film, Hayworth snuck away from the studio to marry Orson Welles. Perhaps that is why she seems unusually cheerful in her dance scenes here, though she always looked happiest when she danced. This is one of the best showcases for Hayworth's fluid and expressive style. Ginger Rogers and Cyd Charisse may have had more advanced skill, but their technique showed. When Hayworth danced, she also acted; all that translated to the screen was her joy. Kelly's athletic build was also a much better match for Hayworth. They have a smooth synchronicity in their numbers together and with co-star Phil Silvers.
