The Triangular Field, GettysburgOthers have been lucky enough to get ghost on film. These photographs show orbs, faces, and even groups of soldiers walking across the field. One day a young man was videotaping his walk around the field. He zoomed in on a pile of rocks, thinking it looked like a place for a soldier to take cover. When he got home and played the tape, her heard an eerie moaning. It sounded like someone was in severe pain, and it came in at the part where he had filmed the rock pile. Confederate sharpshooters hid in the trees along the field. Their ghosts are still seen aiming at a long gone enemy from among the branches. Visitors have also heard the sounds of gunfire and drum rolls in the field. A young woman and her mother were visiting the area. The mother reported hearing the persistent sound of American Indian chanting. The young woman laughed at the older woman, as American Indians are not associated with the battle of Gettysburg. Later, when the daughter researched the area, she found that a fierce Indian battle had taken place in the area, long before the white men had arrived. There is also an Indian burial ground nearby. Many visitors report a feeling of unease in the Triangular Field. This can be expected, considering the horrible loss of life that occurred there on July 2, 1863.
