Valentine Gift Ideas for Chronic Pain Suffers

No doubt with the prevalence of chronic pain in the United States alone, not to mention internationally, you know someone who suffers from this often debilitating condition, so why not show them you care this Valentine's Day by giving them a surprise gift or two to help make their lives a little more liveable? Combining some of these ideas can give your Valentine sweetheart not only one moment of joy to remember when receiving your gift, but a nice night of romance for the both of you. Think about heat, and bathing, and nakedness. Often warm baths are one of the best pain relievers for a chronic pain sufferer, and helping yours to delve into the realm oif sensuality while performing their pain relief function can only put you in his or her good graces. Here's what you need:
  • A laundry basket. Laundry baskets contribute to a lot of back pain due to improper body mechanics, and currently there are several on the market which conform to the shape of the hip allowing for easier use and a more comfortable fit to the anatomy of healthy and not-so healthy individuals alike. Find a white one, or a red one or choose a shade that is a favoprite of your loved one.
  • 100% cotton bath sheets. These are different than bath towels, as they are sized larger. Seek out ones in white, red, maroon, pink or purple that are fluffy and soft to the touch. If you can afford it, go for Egyptian cotton and really treat your loved one as a king or a queen.
  • 100% cotton wash cloths. Again, select for color and comfort. You may even be fortunate enough to find a few with hearts embroidered or patterned on them.
  • Two of those scrunchy plastic bath sponges. I'm sure they have some fancy name, but I'm unaware of it. They do however, hold shower gel and soap well for a frothy bathing experience.
  • Scented bubble bath, soap, shower gel or bath salts. Some of my wife and daughters favorites come from the Healing Garden in Lavender which is both a relaxing herbal scent, and considered and aphrodisiac.
If you can spare the expense, go for some lotion, massage oil, or misting spray to go along with the basket, or a nice fluffy cotton robe. Tie the package up in colored cellophane with hearts and ribbons dangling, or blindfold your Valentine's Day recipient, and lead them to a steamy bath with all the items laid out and draped over the basket. Let your own romatic ideas take it from there either soaping your love's back or climbing into the tub with them. You may want to enhance the mood with some colored, scented candles or a bottle of bubbly. Either way, your favorite chronic pain sufferer will appreciate your careful thought and attention to their needs as well as your desires :) For even more pleasure throughout the year, you may consider drawing up some coupons for scrubbing their back, giving them a massage if you gave oils, or just a night of pampering for them once a month when your special basket of supplies and whatever else you've decided to throw in can be used time and again as a reminder of a wonderful Valentine's Day.
