ApologetiX Concert!Their other CDs have similar biblical messages, and it's hard to hear the old classics again without singing the new lyrics to 'em! The Concert: Sunday, 30 June, 2002, 6:30 PM, at the Family Life Fellowship in Moberly, Missouri. I arrived at about 5:30, doubting, by the look of the parking lot, that there was gonna be a concert in an hour featuring a world-renouned band. I got inside and there were two tables together with shirts and CDs. Yeah, that's one of the things people disagree on --marketing in the church. The wares weren't pushed like in the temple where Jesus actually expressed anger --and they weren't made a mandatory part of the worship, like the wares of the temple were. Anyway, they were on one of the last stops of a tour (that's what I was told), and that was the reason their T-shirt sizes went from S-M-2XL-3XL. I wanted a large, or could have settled for an XL, but I went in with only a new CD (Biblical Grafitti). I got into the sanctuary and chose my seat without any competition. On stage was the band informally jammin' and straightening out some of their show. The band, except the lead guitarist, left for the dressing room. The lead guitarist (Karl) did a couple guitar sound-checks, then went on to the drums for a check. He was good on both. One of their fans (Heather) got on stage for a guitar lesson. They sat cross-legged while Karl showed Heather some chords and other guitar stuff. This was very informal, and friendly. ApologetiX really seems to love what they do. I gotta remember to bring my camera next time, and, perhaps, earplugs. I think I could hear the whole thing quite nicely with lower volume. I suppose loudness is all part of the concert experience.
