Letter to Friends

Saying the Bible and Christianity is just made up is only an excuse not to acknowledge Jesus as your Lord. Evidence of Its Truth abounds, but, like any evidence, you've got to accept or reject it.

Jesus spoke of His divinity, and the very real existence of Hell. Jesus died from a most-excruciating crucifixion, then rose from the dead, like the Bible says. There's lots of supporting evidence to this, too. Some evidence is that the Romans, who never liked to leave a slight unavenged, never found the body. Then there's all the witnesses.

The early manuscripts of our New Testament date lots closer to the events than many secular manuscripts we accept as genuine truth. Too many of Jesus' contemporary believers were willing to die for His Truth. They lived with Him, and folks just don't go to their deaths to perpetuate a falsity. There's lots more evidence to my claims, and it's easy to research.

Why do we accept that Europeans started settling the Americas in the 15th century (OK, yeah, I know Vikings made a settlement in the 10th century, and there are other claims, too.)? Why do we accept that Alexander the Great, Genghis Kahn, Abraham Lincoln or Winston Churchill were real people? The only evidence is written history and testimony of witnesses. There's reliable written history to back up the claims of Christianity. There are also millions whom Jesus has changed to new people. Most people reject the evidence because it might mean they's have to make some changes in their lives. It's up to you to accept or reject the evidence.

I was convicted of my sin, and knew I had no chance for real life without asking Jesus to take control. I had a real, recognizeable, God-shaped hole (lots of songs on this theme!), and I chose God to fill it. He gave us all the free gift of paying for our sins, but like any gift, it's nothing to us unless we accept it. If you don't accept Jesus' free gift, you've chosen to die without Him. You've said, "I don't want to go to Heaven when I die." There's one alternative. God doesn't send anyone to Hell. It's our choice.

I can't make anyone accept Jesus as his or her Lord. I can only let 'em know He's their only way to real life. Christian music, and yes, Christian ROCK and pop music, is a great
