T-Bone: Fun rap (yeah, I used the "R" word in a positive manner) He proudly calls his stuff "West Coast Rap". If this laid back, NOT-in-your-face sound is typical of West Coast Rap, I think I could get used to it --much to my wife's consternation. [4]
BK & Associates: This is like T-Bone's stuff, but with a slight bit more sneer in the vocals. What I gather from reading the CD, Blake Knight (BK) is the instrumentalist, and the "Associates" are the guest vocalists/rappers. BK's got some really interesting sounds on this CD. [4]
Relient K: Punk/Ska with a great sense of humor. I took advantage of a special offer at their website -buy Two Lefts Don't Make a Right, but Three Do and get the Christmas CD Deck the Halls: Bruise Your Fist, free. I only visited their website to find the Christmas CD. A Christmas CD article might be forth-coming as I start collecting them. (Larry Norman's got one, and Audio Adrenaline's got a great "Little Drummer Boy") I heard Relient K's "12 Days of Christmas", and that's what started me on Christmas CDs. Their "Halleluia Chorus" from Handel's Messiah brings some smiles, as well. I like "Mood Rings" too, but I might get slapped if I go into much more detail. It's a guy-thing. [4], but not in big doses.
Room Full of Walters: Alternative with a retro flavoring. Some of the lyrics can be quite thought-inspiring: "Jeffry Dahmer went to Heaven, or else he lied on television. He told us that he found You. He told us the Word was true... but what did he tell You?" The song goes on to say his confession is between him and God, and if we want God to judge Mr. Dahmer as other than worthy, perhaps we want Him to judge us without Jesus' purifying aid, too. [4]
Raymond Scott Woolson: Beautiful instrumental work (was that an accordion on the first track?) --I'll let it go at that, for now, because there's a bigger review coming up soon. [4]
Code of Ethics: --"Again?" You might ask. Yes. I'm glad I heard Blaze and Soul Bait before I heard their self-titled CD. The self-titled one sounds like a light techno-disco boyband. The vocals sound a lot like Tears for Fears. Buy with caution. It's part of my collection now, but probably wouldn't have been, had I known. [2-5]
Zoegirl: I know! It's a bit
