The buzz on 25-year-old Canadian vocalist Londa Larmond continues to build. Her CD for EMI Gospel is bound to be a success and attract positive attention in the gospel community. Larmond is a former member of the internationally acclaimed Sharon Riley & Faith Chorale who provided lead and backing vocals on the group's two multi-award nominated albums, including the 1999 Juno Award-winner for Best Gospel Album of the Year, Life Is. Awarded by the Canadian chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Juno is Canada's equivalent of the Grammy Award. There is a fresh, spiritual and uplifting approach to Londa's music that is making a connection with her audience. Londa's deep Jamaican roots, African-American style and sensibility work well, within the confines of the Black church experience. Londa’s look, voice and image all scream of American influence.

Larmond's latest CD titled "Love Letters" is a gem with a contemporary sound of a soul-pop album. Her message finds its inspiration in church. Her first single "Once" is a great sucess and has a crisp, urban sound." It's the song that will make everyone remember Larmond and is currently featured on the widely popular, Platinum-selling brand WOW Gospel 2001.. The beautifully produced song spins out encouraging and inspirational lyrics with excellent backup singers. Also noteworthy is how she shines in arrangements that flirt with soul-jazz, and the powerful combination of her control and phrasing that makes her a particularly notable singer. Additional tracks include "I Delight in You," "Love Letters," "Better Days," and "He Lives" display Larmond's subtle touch. Larmond gets into a bit of funk tune with "Ascension," and jazzy feel with "Love Letters" that provides a mellow sound and R&B rhythm.
