Mr. RealMr. Real is one of the best Gospel rap artists out today, and has been dropping conscious Christian lyrics on his listeners with a verbal assault that demands for people to pay attention to the message. I would put Mr. Real up against rappers such as B.B. Jay or J. Moss although his career isn't as commercialized.any of them and be sure that he won't disappoint. Mr. Real's second album, 'A Chosen One is blazin and brings a much more sincere and real spiritual vibe than most Gospel rap. It's more than a bag of beats, it's ministry, and he doesn't have to say that a million times to prove it to you, the lyrics let you know. He approaches his album with that same lyrical fervor, imparting strong messages with each sentence. A Chosen One is a 15 track focused on denouncing false prophets, industry fakers, and spiritually dead sinners. The album stars off with "World Wide" and "False Prophets", which puts the people on about the devil's schemes and these fake preachers in the last days. The opening song is the album's first radio single, WORLDWIDE. The song disses so-called Christian artists who talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. Mr. Real delivers with a crisp, smooth delivery that flows straight into your conscience. Then the album slows down with "To Live And Die" and moves on into "2nd Lookas", a song to the brothas about resisting the lure of sexual sin and the pitfalls associated with succumbing to temptresses. Then there's the thought provoking "Things Ain't What They Seem To Be", an expose into the bad dealings between record companies and artists, it's also about haters on the Gospel rap community. Later on the album are the hot skating rink, 'pump it up in ya' jeep', joints "Do Yo Dance", "Stop Frontin'", and "Dub Side Bounce". "Seems to be" is a warning to all MC's trying to get into the music business. He says things in the industry are not always what they appear to be. Mr. Real breaks down the truth about people who are too caught up in chasing money instead of focusing on ministry. The song also features the smooth vocal assistance of Mr. Real's Grapetree Records labelmate Ayeesha. "Call Him" is a nice mellow track that exhorts listeners to call on Jesus to help you get through your trails and tribulations. The album pushes forward with Stop Frontin', aimed toward people who claim to be annointed but their lifestyle shows a huge contradiction.
