Tonex

Tonex is a singer, songwriter, and youth leader who is not afraid to rock the waves in contemporary Christian music. Tonex is a genious and God has really gifted him profound lyrics and awesome vocals. He is a man of many colors and he wears each one of them to it's richest potential. His musical imagination knows no bounds as is evident by his diverse debut. His music ranges from urban to jazz to futuristic, soul/gospel and hip hop. He doesn't dabble in it but convincely plays, sings and produces all styles. Tonex music and life is a careful orchestration designed to bring young souls, old souls, the unsaved and the struggling-to-be-saved souls to Christ. As the Associate Pastor of the Truth Apostolic Church in San Diego, California, where his father and mother serve as the senior and assistant pastors, respectively, Tonex or, as the members call him, Pastor Anthony Williams is grounded in the word of God.

His latest CD titled "Toe-nay" is a collection of 21 songs. All of the tracks on the album were written at least 3 years ago but everything from the production to the vocals and everything are unparelled in most music today, and with 7 different catagories of music (including 2 remixes), there is something for everyone. You get eclectic sampling of everything ranging from hip-hop to retro to funk to jazz and more. His hip hop tracks are outstanding and he is at his strongest when he does the jazz and melow grooves in "Waiting" and "Why". He talks about dissappointing God by "staying up late and getting high" and then you listen to the remix of "One Good Reason", you know that the boy was telling the truth. This CD is the standard with which all gospel/ r&b albums will be measured this side of the milennium.
