One Nation Crew

I have become an advent fan of Kirk Franklin. I have listened to his songs on his Nu Nation Project. I find his music to be encouraging and uplifting with an upbeat background tempo that richly demonstrates his musical ability and talent. I think he has an extraordinary voice and I usually do not sit still while listening to his songs. He indeed embraces the soul with his profound songwriting and lyrics. His songs minister to me a lot and speaks straight to me. His new album "One Nation Crew" is one of his many accomplishments. I love the way that he combines hip-hop and gospel and makes something new out of it.

I truly believe in Kirk Franklin's music ministry to the world, and specifically to the young generations. I know that God has given him a vision of glory and majesty whose labor of love is being manifested daily through his music and countless numbers of people are coming to Christ. Kirk is indeed a great performer and musician touching young people's hearts is nothing but a gift from God. Franklin's rise wasn't one that happened overnight. His was a hard-fought battle from the streets of Fort Worth, Texas. It is a tale of despair and deliverance that Franklin has chronicled in Church Boy, but putting his life story to paper wasn't initially of interest.

However, today Grammy winner Kirk Franklin is one of the brightest stars in contemporary gospel music despite his rocky past. Kirk moves ahead with a fresh new sound, and great lyrics with his latest release "One Nation Crew". This album is an extraordinary eclectic collection of hip hop gospel songs featuring step-out vocals from each member of this exceptional group. Includes the radio singles, "Movin' On" and "Free." This project has pop overtones soundwise but retains an urban flair. The single "Unconditional" includes spoken Spanish by Shelila Ingrams with smooth melodies and flowing intrumental background of horns, keys, and an acoustic guitar.

In "Be Like Him" Franklin reaches to the world by displaying an African folk song "Kwaze Kwabonankala" with further instrumental background music of bass, and percussion which is sure to delight its listeners. Other song varieties go beyond the geographical and bring diversity into the mix. Other cuts include "Hands Up", "When you fall", "Lost Hearts", and "In Your Grace". Lastly, for "Nobody" the albums first single has great rhythm, background acoustic guitars, and contains Spanish and Italian verses. The song is about Jesus at the only source of joy through any and all of life's trials. This CD is sure to be another hit from highly talented Kirk Franklin, and I recommend his music to everyone.
