Mary MaryA pair of sisters named Erica and Tina Atkins from Inglewood, California go by the name Mary Mary. They grew up in a large church going family with parents, and share a loving and respectful relationship with them. The pair could easily be the next divas of urban music and are part of the major transformation gospel music has experienced in just the last five years.with. They're using music to profess their faith and minister to the hearts of there listeners. Mary Mary aren't vocalizing R&B love lyrics, but contemporary gospel music and upbeat and uplifting is their sound. Their faces and voices are fresh, and have they have combined street sensibilities with spirituality. They are touring the nation and taking the name of Jesus into urban radio programming and mainstream media. They started out traveling with R&B artists and singing background vocals, and writing songs for tracks for R&B act 702, a song for Robin S on the Dr. Dolittle Soundtrack and then a couple on Yolanda Adams' recent CD on Elektra. As a result, Tina and Erica have established themselves as gifted writers. Mary Mary's debut album, "Thankful" is a collection of gospel songs written by Tina and Erica which tells there real-life experiences straight from the heart and soul. The first single, "Shackles," is a beautiful song that speaks of Mary Mary's belief in God. The single is blazing its way up the charts in both Gospel and R&B markets. Credited with the Albums' success is Warryn Campbell for his musical ingenuity, creativity and producer talent that makes Mary Mary's music hit so hard. He's the voice you sometimes hear speaking on some of Mary Mary's songs, like in "Shackles (Praise You)". Uplifting cuts like the soulful "Still My Child" have an upbeat and groovy beat and ministers a meaningful message of hope and love. It's definitely contemporary, and music that everybody in any style of music can relate to. It's universal, but the lyrics are undeniably Gospel. Tina & Erica are a joy and talent. They want the message of Christ to go everywhere through there music, and feel confident about there faith and belief in God.
