Chain BreakerDeitrick Haddon has proven to be on the forefront of gospel music with his brilliant mix of styles and sounds on his projects. The music of Deitrick & The Voices of Unity (VOU) is uplifting, encouraging and mesmerizing to all. He is an outstanding youth pastor, songwriter, and producer and has been anointed to lead gospel to a new era. Deitrick Haddon stands out from the pack of other Gospel artists with his distinct songwriting abilities, and his high intensity performances. The Detroit native is accompanied by his wife, Damita Haddon who both minister to the heart of there listeners, and bring the message of hope, love, and truth. Deitrick Haddon and The Voices of Unity also have an excellent track record that began with such albums as "Come Into This House in 1995. Secondly, their 1997 album, "Live The Life," which produced such hits as "Saved" and "Live The Life". Additionally, Deitrick's release titled ,"This Is My Story," was a big hit on the billboard charts and took the music industry by storm. Deitrick Haddon & V.O.U.'s latest release titled "Chain Breaker" has a combination of live songs that were recorded at the live video taping and recording in Detroit. The album consists of lyrically intense, and rich vocal sounds with such cuts as "Totally Sold Out" and "Walking Dead" which presents a side of Deitrick Haddon who was influenced by the music of Michael Jackson. Also, Deitrick teams up for a duet with John P. Kee for the song titled "Double Team" which is sure to captivate all listeners. The last 8 songs on the album contains the live tracks and is where Haddon combines with the full V.O.U. choir for maximum effect. The 8 cuts were recorded before his home church congregation and encompass multiple sounds including soulful praise and worship ("We Worship You"), live remakes of hits from his previous projects ("Fire" and "Live the Life"), and reggae influences ("He Never Fails"). Overall, their mission is breaking man-made religious rules that limit the message of gospel music. Deitrick and VOU sing from the standpoint that people need to have a relationship with God and not just a religion.
