How I FeelMaurette Brown-Clark is a Long Island, NY native and has been touring and performing since she was a child. She was raised in a musically inclined family with a strong religious background. She is no novice to singing gospel both on stage and in church with other recording artists. Clark's outstanding vocal talent and skill as a pianist has given her the opportunity to share the stage with gospel's music's best, including Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, CeCe Winans, Donnie McClurkin and even Michael Jackson's song "You Are Not Alone" where she sang background vocals on TV appearances. The approach that Brown-Clark takes vocally on her work is strong, unclouded and clear. Maurette is known as an electrifying, emotional artist whose music touches the heart and soul and transcends both traditional and contemporary gospel music. Maurette has matured into a very talented musician that has gained her great recognition. Her latest solo release "How I feel" consists of a beautiful and intimate recording by Maurette Brown Clark which reveals Clark's feelings and thoughts for Jesus Christ. The album consists of traditional gospel as well as various musical styles. She hopes listeners can experience the unfailing love of God through this album. Maurette reached far beyond her ability as a songwriter and prayed to God that He would give her the lyrics that would let the words speak and not let the music overpower the message. "I want my album to be that spiritual fuel to help that person get through the week when they feel like the world is pressing down on their shoulders. Wherever you may be, in your car, at home, or at work, pop in the CD because it has something for everybody, young or old. Nothing is more important to me than to win souls for God's Kingdom; that is our main purpose as Christians. I want people to experience the love of God and know that He sent His only son, Jesus Christ our Savior, who died for our sins so that we may be saved." Overall, it is an outstanding project that deserves to be noticed and will be sure to catch your interest somewhere amongst the diverse and well-done tracks on the album. Most impressive is the work she put into her background vocals which Maurette performed mostly by herself. She really showcases her ability as a songwritier and producer on this album. The result is a delightful project that has a little something for everyone. It greatly touches on the contemporary and the traditional. This is a great piece of work and excellent display of artistry!
