Sandi Patty's "Artist Of My Soul" is a work of art truly worthy of its title and reflective of Sandi's heart.
It is time now to take a deep long breath, close our eyes and empty our heads and listen again to the glorious gift God has given Sandi Patty. Artist of My Soul gives us the chance to hear the beautiful, powerful, interpretive voice of an original unlike we've ever heard her before. She undoubtedly reflects God's work in her life. Sandi's trademark vocals grace each song on Artist Of My Soul, always eloquent and expressing a wide range of emotion. Her heartfelt interpretation of each song is evidence of her passionate belief in the music and the messages found therein. Artist of My Soul centers on the personal relationship that an individual has with her Creator, but the songs are rarely self-focused. Instead, they tend toward thoughts like "I'm speechless/Silenced by how good you are to me." Only on "You Set Me Free" does Patty briefly turn inward, recounting a litany of missed or botched opportunities, but she resolves it with "There are things I'd do different and yet/Grace gives me days when I simply forget." Patty says that her relationship with God "is the catalyst behind everything that I do. I just keep thanking Him, telling Him that I can¹t believe how He was worked in my life. He has reminded me over these past several years that He is still faithful, He likes me and is walking with me." She returns to that theme again and again on this album. Patty has weathered the public consequences of her personal and moral struggles. If those consequences had finished her recording and performing career, it would've have been a shame. Sin and bad choices don¹t have to - and shouldn't - end a person's life or spiritual effectiveness, and Artist of My Soul shows God's healing and shaping power in a life. It's heartening to see that this new recording allows Patty to share publicly with the many people whom she has inspired and entertained. Here are the full lyrics to each and every song on this album and Free audio samples to the songs, and a brief description of the songs.
