Smitty's New Single & Rad Rocker Tragedy

The Michael W Smith single "Love Me Good" was just released Tuesday, Apr. 7, 1998. It's a real honest-to-goodness single - the song, one remix, and a bonus track "Evening Show," just like you'd buy at Wal-mart, no extras, enhanced stuff or anything else to "enhance" the price. It would be nice if other Christian labels would release some more singles too. I'll try to get this Real Audio asap for all of you who would like to hear this.

On a separate note...Rad Rockers issued the following press release Monday, Apr. 6, 1998 to all the friends of Rad Rockers.

Our friend and co-worker, Michael Lucchi, died early Sunday morning, Apr. 5, 1998, in a Kansas City-area hospital from complications resulting from a heart attack suffered three days earlier.

Michael was born with a congenital heart defect, and had numerous surgeries throughout his life. He was scheduled to have his aortic valve replaced on Apr. 21, an operation that was believed to enable him to finally live a long and normal life.

Michael was fondly known as Rad Rockers' "webmeister." From his home in Overland Park, Kans., he and his wife Heidi built, maintained and developed our web site as well as our 900 number service.

We do not know what all this means for the future of Rad Rockers' online evolution, but our immediate concern is to continue to be there for Heidi and her family. Due to Mike's heart condition, he has never had life insurance and so we are encouraging anyone concerned to prayerfully consider contributing to his wife's and children's financial well-being in this time of grief by sending checks or money orders made out to Heidi Lucchi at the following address:

Heidi Lucchi
9738 Eby St.
Overland Park, KS 66212

Mike was responsible for the quick, efficient processing of e-mail orders, bids in our Online auction, and the "Used Onesies/Set Sale" feature of our web site, as well as several other crucial administrative functions (i.e. programming our 900# "Try Before You Buy" service). This will surely have a short-term impact on our ability to handle the volume of orders and customer transactions from the web site, but even more so, we'll miss having Mike's business acumen and insight to lean on. Mike was our personal friend as well as our co-worker, and, we are certain that his shoes will never fully be filled again. Mike also was very involved in collaborating with Steve Scott to produce several albums which without his involvement, would not have seen the light of day.
