dc Talk’s brand new single...My Will

© Daniel Janowski

I'm pretty sure that many of you may not have heard the new released single "My Will" by dc Talk yet. Well . . . I have a special treat for you: two real audio sound clips of "My Will" that I made especially for this article. It took me longer than I thought it would to make them (2 ½ hours!) due to technical difficulties at my end. They are both in Real Audio 3.0 format, so it will work on versions 3.0 and up. You can choose from a short clip that will load quickly at the file size of 105k. Or you can hear the whole version of it at 464k. This has got to be the latest, hottest thing on the net for the fans of dc Talk. I searched all over the Web trying to find more info on this tune and a sound file for it. No sound files were available anywhere for this number and finding information on this single and the new album to be released wasn't as fruitful as I would like it to have been. But then again, that's why I'm here. I find the info so you don't have to spend your valuable time looking for it.

I noticed I wasn't the only one on the net looking for info on "My Will." By means of information I gathered from the message board at The Christian Music Mining Co., the host there was asking if anybody knew anything about it.

The program/music director of KXOO FM in Elk City, Okla., and host of the morning show, received the single for "My Will" on Monday, Mar. 9, 1998, the same time that my area Christian Radio Station, WRCM 91.9 FM in Monroe, N.C. received their copy. Searching the entire cardboard cover for info on where this song can be found is of no avail. It is released on the Rocketown Records label. I just don't understand why they did not at least tell where it can be found. How are the DJ's supposed to let their listeners know what album it's going to be on, so they can buy it. It looks like the executives weren't thinking about this when they printed the covers and labels for it.

Come to find out "My Will" is to be featured on a sampler called "Exodus." This upcoming Rocketown Records' contemporary praise and worship album by various artists that should be on the market in May. It appears that the new single, "Supernatural," will also be on the new dc Talk album. That album has a tentative scheduled release in May, but sources now indicate that it will be out in Fall of '98 around the month of September. It will be released on Virgin Records and ForeFront Records.
