Amy Grant has around 20 years experience in the music industry including five Grammys and over 18 million copies in album sales. Behind the Eyes was released in U.S. on Sept. 29, 1997 and then released in Europe on Oct. 1, 1997. Two and a half months later, on the week ending Dec. 14, Behind the Eyes was certified gold!
Here's a little of what Amy says about the album. About some of the songs The next song, Like I Love You, sounds like the old tune by The Animals called House of the Rising Sun for the first 15 seconds, with similar chords. But at the 16-second mark you hear the melodic voice of Amy bringing up the issue of those who have experienced a broken heart. She opens the door on sad and painful memories and shines the light of hope that there is a love that will love you like never before, and a broken heart can be mended. Takes a Little Time, the single, was released to Christian Book Stores on July 29,1997. It has a catchy melody and lyrics that everyone can relate to at one time or another. Sometimes you need to give things a little time to get your feet back on the ground. It's just like the old adage and lyrics say, Rome wasn't built in a day!.
