Whiteheart...Redemption

© Daniel Janowski

Whiteheart is one the original Christian Rock bands that survived the test of time since the early 80’s. To stay current, Whiteheart kept up with the changing times by being musically diverse in the rock genre, and it retained the flow of new material released to about every two years or so. One thing that has not changed over the years is the uncompromising message that has lead many to a closer walk with Jesus Christ.

Whiteheart is Mark Gersmehl on lead and background vocals, Billy Smiley on acoustic, electric guitars and background vocals, and Rick Florian on lead and background vocals. Redemption was released by Curb Records in September 1997.

"Looking Glass" starts out the album with a mellow guitar sequence and Rick Florian's unique vocals. The tune reminds us that the Lord doesn’t see us in our past, but through His looking glass.
"Man Overboard" is my fav tune on this album.I love that synthesizer and those bass licks. This is a killer tune that I believe most Whiteheart fans will probably favor themselves.
"Honestly" has a beautiful acoustic melody along with easy vocals that soothe the soul.
"Steel & Stone" has some excellent bass riffs and is one of the harder rock numbers on this album. It’s another tune for the hard rockers out there, with a message.
"The Vine" is an acoustic prayer song that asks and confirms the Lord’s healing flowing to our minds, when we are the branch and He is the Vine.
"Fall on Me" is still popular on Christian radio. This is another one of what I would call "prayer songs": "Oh my Redeemer, come even nearer. Won’t you fall on me?"

Songs on this album:
Looking Glass
Man Overboard

Steel & Stone
