Live in Concert This dc Talk album is a live version of their most excellent and entertaining concert, where the audience gets involved in the tunes by raising their hands, singing along, shouting along, and praising the Lord.
It opens up with "Help" originally done by the Beatles in the 60's, then transforms into dc Talk's So Help Me God, a very good transition that shows us we have a great God who will help us through are struggles when we put our faith in Him.
The third number, "Luv is a Verb" tells the audience that love is a serious word. It's something we should be doing, not just saying. Next comes "Like it, Love it, Need it." It was nominated for a Dove award as Rock song of the year. The song informs us that peace of mind isn't found in anything except for Jesus.
Song number five on the CD Color People is a beautiful arrangement of acoustic guitar and vocals that describes there is joy in the diversity of our skin tones and races. We must repent from our prejudices and mistakes out of the past and move onwards together towards the mark of the high calling.
"Jesus is Just Alright," rocks the house next, in a hard rock/rap style. If you are old enough, you may remember when the Doobie Brothers made this popular back in the 70's originally. You can tell by the vocals and the somewhat updated parts of the lyrics, that Jesus is more than "just all right."
"What If I Fall" is a tender acoustical melody that will minister to all. We all need to know that we if we stumble or fall that we have our Lord Jesus Christ who loves us much more than our mistakes we may make along life's narrow road. Not being perfect is not an excuse to live wild and out of control, but we also need to remember that He loves us as we are, not as we should be. The closer we are to the Light the more we will be like Him. The next song, "In the Light" expresses that our desire should be walking in the light of our Lord Jesus. All of the songs bring the experience of their concerts right into your stereo speakers at home.the most memorable tune from their concert for me and also one of their most famous numbers, which is also the last tune on the CD, "Jesus Freak." This is my one of my favorite songs from all times. It absolutely rocks the house with the message to be a Jesus Freak! A freak is defined as an ardent enthusiast. John the Baptist was the original and ultimate Jesus Freak. We all should be ardent enthusiasts for Jesus, after all, He was thinking of you and I when He laid down His life and died on the cross for our sins, so that we may have eternal life.
