Interview with World Gone Mad

© Daniel Janowski

Recently I had the pleasure of an online interview with Janice Sweet from World Gone Mad Records (This is the label that Robert Sweet's first solo debut Love Trash, is released on.)

Dano:
Can you tell me a little about World Gone Mad?

Janice: World Gone Mad was primarily a video/entertainment company before Mike Reynolds (the president of the company) met Robert Sweet and decided to form World Gone Mad Records.  Mike met Robert years ago when Robert visited radio station KYMS in Orange County, CA. Mike was sixteen at that time, worked at the station, and always been into Stryper. Later when Robert moved to Las Vegas, he ran into Mike again and they became friends who eventually struck up a business relationship. Mike really believes and supports Robert's music. Mike is now making wide-range plans, which include a radio tour, touring in support of "Love Trash" and recording a second Robert Sweet project.

Dano: How do promoters or people get in contact with World Gone Mad?

Janice:
The way that friends or professionals can contact us is:
Email: Janice@worldgonemad.net
Phone: 702-839-1177
Or via snail mail:
World Gone Mad Entertainment
PO Box 97217
Las Vegas, NV 89193

Dano: Janice are you related to RobertSweet?

Janice:
I am Robert and Michael's mom. I was a supporter of their music way before Stryper was formed. My husband and I both encouraged them before the beginning. I eventually became Stryper's manager and ran their fan club from 1984-1992. It was a big job and I had a wonderful staff to assist me.

Dano: Speaking of Stryper…Any more possible reunions coming up?

Janice:
Stryper reformed to perform at the 1st annual Stryper Expo last year and will do it again at the 2nd annual Stryper Expo in 2001, this time to be held in California. Visit www.stryperexpo.com for the most recent updates on this. They have also all agreed to play in Costa Rica on December 16 of this year.

Fans can visit www.robertsweet.com/costarica.html for more details on this and even get info to book their trip. They will also be playing in Puerto Rico early next year, the date is still undetermined at this time.  It amazes me that they draw record crowds. In Puerto Rico, 15,000 will turn out for the concert. In Chile, they will perform twice in one day to accommodate the crowds. The first lady of Chile has gotten involved with promotion/production of the concert and has stated that they will be coming into the country under diplomatic status.  I guess that means red carpet treatment! It’s amazing how God works!
