During the 18th annual show, the 15-year-old pop artist will perform the chart-topping song "Live For You", the title track from her August 1 debut album.
Other musical guests include hit-recording groups 98 degrees and Westlife. MTV News personality Brian McFayden will host the pageant alongside co-hosts Julie Moran ("Entertainment Tonight") and actress Ali Landry, Miss USA 1996. 51 Miss Teen USA delegates will compete for the millennium title.
Rachael has quickly established herself as one of the Christian music industry's most exciting new artists. Live For You recently debuted at #2 on Billboard's "Top Heatseakers Albums" after one week on the chart. She was tracked as high as #87 on Amazon.com sales chart for all music genres during her first week of sales. Rachael also recently broke Soundscan records as the highest-scanning debut on the Christian chart by a solo artist.
Prior to its release, Live For You had already created monumental anticipation within the music community. Rachael's title-cut held the #1 spot twice in three weeks on the Adult Contemporary (Jamsline AC) chart and also gained the #1 position on the Christian Hit Radio (Jamsline CHR) chart.
Rachael's current promo tour included appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "The View with Barbara Walters", with pop group Boyz II Men in Philadelphia and on "The 700 Club". She is also scheduled to appear at Orlando's Rock the Universe, in Teen People's October issue, in a Franklin Graham Crusade and at more than a dozen Brown Bag concerts sponsored by radio stations around the country throughout August.
Rachael's amazing vocals and the creative team behind Live For You makes this project the most talked about release of the year. Word Records A&R vice president Brent Bourgeois put together a conclave of industry singer-songwriter standouts to help with the album, including: Cindy Morgan, Chris Rodriguez, Chris Eaton, Ginny Owens, David Mullen, Nicole C. Mullen, and Michelle Tumes. Eaton and Rodriguez co-wrote the #1 AC single "Live For You" for the project.
