At his concerts, the audience ranges from grandmothers to babies, young families to Generation X-ers, short-hairs to long-hairs. The music he performs is a various cornucopia of charismatic praise, rap, worship, storytelling, rock and more! Let me inform of this in advance: people dance at Carman's concerts. A lot of Carman's music speaks to the new generation of radically committed Christians. At the end of the spring 97 tour, Carman ministered to more than 518,000 and saw more than 21,000 make decisions for Christ!
Carman has three releases this year. The April 1, 1997, release of his classic hymns record, I Surrender All, has done extremely well. It's almost at the RIAA certified gold status. This album was a change of pace from Carman's contemporary, rap, hip hop, country, inspirational and other performances. It has 30 classical hymns on it and no contemporary renditions. This just goes to show that Carman can still minister to the whole body, no problem! A perfect gift for those who enjoy those beloved hymns of old.
The Best Of The Early Years was just released Oct. 21, 1997, and has a great selection of his music from the past. If ya wanna a taste of Carman without having to buy all of his stuff, this is it! The best of the best!
The Mission 3:16 Single with four re-mixes was just released on Nov. 18, 1997. Here's what Carman says about this: I have always wanted to do remixes on some of these great crowd favorites. Every year the styles change as well as the sounds. I can't wait for you to hear this. If you don't want to dance, then strap yourself DOWN!
The new album, Mission 3:16 plus The Absolute Best video, is scheduled for release Jan. 27, 1997. You might even hear Tony Orlando's (remember him?) talents on Carman's next record, Mission 3:16.
