In case you are wondering where the name Sixpence None The Richer came from, the band's name comes from a passage in the C.S. Lewis book Mere Christianity. Sixpence first went to the studios and recorded a demo in 1992. In 1993 the demo paid off and Sixpence was signed up by R.E.X. Music. They have recently just re-released the demo songs recorded in 1992.

Sixpence's third full-length album day-viewed on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1997, for the Christian Community. The album Sixpence None the Richer will be released to the mainstream market in February 1998. The album was produced by Steve Taylor and is the first release on his Squint Entertainment label. The band consists of three members: Matt Slocum — guitar, Leigh Bingham — lead vocalist, and Dale Baker — drums.

Kiss Me will be the first radio release and will probably be sent to radio stations across the country in February 1998. This will be the same date that the album is released to mainstream market. In the meanwhile, the album's first single, Love has already been released to the Christian stations.
