I had the pleasure of experiencing an Audio Adrenaline Concert at Christian Music Day on Saturday, September 25, 1999 in Charlotte, NC. They were totally awesome and are on fire for the Lord! They are not ashamed of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and they do proclaim it loudly in their music and when speaking to the crowds between sets. They started the concert out with one my favorite tunes...Some Kind Of Zombie. I just love the combination of the classical orchestra with it's peaceful tuneage breaking into the heavy bass riffs, and screaming guitars. The song is very symbolic of the spiritual warfare, and how we can overcome temptation by giving our lives away totally to the Lord. They followed Zombie up with Big House, which is also an excellent video (I feel Zombie is one of their best vids). Next up was a number that sounded really familiar, even though it was "brand new" from there just released album, Underdog. Some of you may remember the song, Let My Love Open the Door. It was originally from the band Who's guitarist & songwriter, Peter Townshend! This is one song that hits the nail on the head though, if you think about it. Rev 3:20 says... Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me! AA played all the favorites, well most of them. There is just so many songs you can do in an one hour slot. They also played the following in order, King of Kings, Free Ride, Never Gonna Be As Big As Jesus, Hands & Feet (from Underdog), We're a Band (With on-stage participation from fans!), Mighty Good Leader (from Underdog), and their new hit single from Underdog, Get Down. I hear Get Down about everyday at work on ChristianRock.net, and never who it was by until I heard AA play it in concert!
There were other bands worthy of mention at Christian Music Day, which was a sell out as usual. Because of the ungodly traffic jam concerns I didn't stay for Carman, who always puts on an excellent concert, but did get to enjoy the Ragamuffins who tragically lost their mentor, friend, and Christian Music's finest musician, Rich Mullins exactly two years to the day. Also appearing was Chris Rice, Raze, Satellite Soul, Eli, Jason Ingram, & Pete Stewart. Go To Page: 1 2
