Bride, the veteran Christian
Metal/Hard Rock band who proclaims the Gospel Message louder, more aggressively,
and truthfully than any other Christian Metal Band I know of, has just
released their "Oddities" CD on the Organic label. This is their 11th album
to date, and the second one through Organic
Records. "Oddities" or "Jesus Freaks" is what the world calls "truly"
committed Christians. This is how the title came about for those who may
be wondering.
Bride is definitely a group of
talented guys who are not ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is made
evident when Dale stops
in the middle of the concert and starts preaching to the crowd. I caught
Bride at Carowinds during their "Jesus
Experience" Tour. It was a most excellent concert and the words that Dale
shared from the Bible when he started preaching were very timely and right
on target. It is great to see that they don't water down the Gospel and
try to go along with some of the other Christian Bands who may make a few
comments here and there so that they can still be called a Christian Band.
It seems like some bands don't want to offend the non Christian community,
so they keep the Christian content to a limit. Don't get me wrong, I don't
mean to put the other bands down, I realize each has a ministry and a method
behind the madness. Some bands may minister better to some individuals
by spoon feeding them the Gospel and planting a seed. Then the bands like
Bride can water them and we can reap
a harvest for the Lord.
Another way to look at the music is what or who are they promoting?
It's sort of strange that when Dale
(The Spokesman for Bride) is interviewed,
he doesn't want to talk about Bride!
He wants to talk about Jesus and spreading the Message of Jesus Christ!
Here's a couple excerpts from a recent interview with HM Zine.
HM -- Is there anything else you'd like me to add for the story?
Dale -- "I just
continue to want people to remember that this is a ministry, and we're
trying to save souls with the Gospel of Christ. Every year, it gets harder
and harder. Our fans from when we started, are grown-ups now. They have
families, they have responsibilities. A lot of their tastes have changed.
A lot of them have gone on to... you know a lot of 'em no longer listen
to Bride, they listen to something
a bit more moderate. And any band that's preaching the Gospel, they definitely
