Operation Christmas Love

Mission Without Borders will begin preparing parcels for delivery this Christmas very soon. Operation Christmas Love, a part of the FamilyCare program, brings hope and help to over 21,000 families in Eastern Europe every year. Food is scarce in the harsh winters of Eastern Europe. Fuel is always in short supply and the poor are particularly affected. Mission Without Borders distributes over 21,000 food parcels to poor families to children, the elderly, handicapped and families.

What do these parcels contain?

Typically, each parcel contains canned meat, powdered milk, coffee, soup mixes, rice, cooking oil, sugar, and canned vegetables. There are also sweets and small toys for children as well as a New Testament and Christian literature.

How much does each parcel cost?

The 28 pound parcels cost only $25 to package and deliver. The cost is kept so low by purchasing items in Europe and by gifts from major corporations.

How can I help?

You can sponsor a food parcel through this special outreach program. Whatever you can send will help insure that a child has a Christmas to remember, a family has food for the cold winter months, and the birthday of Christ is celebrated by honoring Him. Their phone number is 1-800-245-9191.

If you have any questions, please e mail me or post a question to the discussion list. Imagine if every Christian in America sent just 10% of what they spend on Christmas gifts to a needy family overseas..
