Any rustic or casual family room can go from Shabby Chic to Country Cottage with vanilla white, green tea, and butter yellow perked up with a little brick red and warm brown. Bare wood floors and pewter are good accents.
If you still like the High Tech look, go Retro by recalling the Airstream trailers of the 1950s, with blacks, bright whites, and chrome. Hunt down those 1950s dinettes with red or aqua Formica, for an authentic touch. And for a lush and rich feeling, mix coffee brown with deep reds, golds and burgundy. Accents and textures can be as luxurious as you want, to evoke the expensive look of old English manor houses or Continental castles. Look for ornate picture frames and mirrors at flea markets to reframe those family portraits. Remember to focus on harmony, function, and your own taste when you choose a color scheme, and you won't go wrong with any of the 2004 trends. Go To Page: 1 2
