Do you mean river dam?Ahh. More curse words. Lets see what we can learn this week. All in Chinese now. So no more pardon my French. Let's move out of the bedroom and into the insult. "Damn it" is a very popular expression. The Chinese word is Ta ma de. This can be used as a compliment or an insult. You can express your admiration over a womans beauty by saying: "Oh, what a damn beauty!" or "Zhen ta ma piaoliang!" If you see a muscle guy working out you can say: "What a damn great build he has!" or "Zhen ta ma zhuang!" If you favorite sport team loses, you can say: "What a damned loss!" or "Shu de zhen ta ma can!" If you are cruel enough to comment on an unattractive person, you can say: "What a damn ugly face!" or "Zhen ta ma chou!" "Zhen ta ma" has more meanings than "damn it". If something disgusts you, you say: "sick/disgusting!" or "Zhen ta ma e xin If you read a book that is poorly written, you say: "This book is crudely written!" or "Zhen ta ma cao!" If you hear something that sounds a little incredible, you say: "That's incredible!" or ""Zhen ta ma jue!" If you have something that is poorly made, ou say: "This is shitty!" or "Zhen ta ma shi!" When someone else takes credit for your work, you say: "They are shameless." or "Zhen ta ma bu yao lian" ("bu yao lian", translates as throw away one's face; shameless.) There you go, damn it. Just watch where and who you say these phrases. Do not say them near the person they are directed to. Do not say them during a formal gathering either. You will look barbaric.
