11.SR: What piqued your interest in Audobon? Where did you do your research for this book?

JA: I went to Audubon camp as a kid. I was always interested in nature, and in my adulthood that has been paired with my interest in history to lead me into reading about the pioneering naturalists and explorers. I read Audubon's journals, and the classic biographies of him. The usual kind of thing.

12.SR: Can you discuss any current or future projects?

JA: I'm working on a book about Civil War photography right now, as well as compiling and editing anthology of original short stories about music.
