12.SR: Your Fortune Teller Club series is really taking off. I understand you are going to be working on the 6 and 7th books in this series. What can fans look forward to in the future? What other irons do you have in the writing fire? Can you share some of these.
DE: The Fortune Tellers Club will be tackling more "supernatural" events in future books. Book three, The Magic Shades, is about a pair of sunglasses that lets Gena see into the future. Book four deals with spiritualism. Book 7 comes back to the mundane a bit when the girls are faced with the problem of censorship. As far as other writing projects, I have lots of children's books being considered. One publisher is currently searching for an illustrator for one of my picture books. I do have a three-book series of science stories coming out soon with Teaching & Learning Co. They are a collection of original stories, folktales and poems that are read or told while conducting a simple science experiment. The books are called Storytime Experiences for Physical Science, Storytime Experiences for Biological Science, and Storytime Experiences for Earth Science. These books are written for teachers.
13.SR: I know you have experienced some censorship issues regarding the "mystical" content of the books. Have any of these issues been resolved? Have they discouraged you at all?
The few incidences I've experienced haven't been resolved, but the positive responses to the book far outweigh the negative. I'm not discouraged at all. No matter what the content, not all books are for everyone. I'm just happy that Fortune Tellers Club has been so well received. I hope it has a long and happy life.
