Summer Inspiration

© Sue Reichard

As the dog days of summer approach do not neglect the proper care and feeding of yourself as a writer. Whether you write for children or young adults, it can be an emotionally draining profession. Writing can often times seem like a very lonely profession. Writers usually write in isolation, (unless, of course you are a mom!!) often ideas cannot be shared while in process and only writers can experience the pain of rejection. One terrific and fun way to have daily "morsels" of writing motivation and advice is to subscribe the growing numbers of email newsletters. They are often a ray of sunshine in a busy and hectic day.

Some newsletters deal specifically with children's literature and writing, others offer general writing advice, sometimes humor and others offer a way to just keep current with the profession of writing and publishing. There are many more besides the few I have listed below. Many times newsletters will contain a link to another newsletter. So,take a few minutes to check them out and perhaps one will strike your fancy and offer what you need as a writer.
