At this time of year, everyone can use some inspiration to go along with the Easter season. Writers can use inspiration anytime of the year, so here are some motivational/inspirational quotations I've put together. I hope they will inspire you.
"One of the marks of a gift is to have the courage to use it." "To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong." "Everyone has a good poem hidden in their head." "Write about it by day, and dream about it by night." "God sells us all things at the price of labor." "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us." "To make your unknown known - that is the important thing." "No iron can pierce the heart with such force as a period put at the right place." "To write simply is as difficult as to be good." "Suit the action to the word, the word to the action." "When rewriting, move quickly. It's a little like cutting your own hair." "First thought, best thought." "Third thought, best thought." "Writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can see only as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way." "Any work of art must first of all tell a story." "A writer is someone for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people." "I'm going to write because I cannot help it." "I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I write and I understand." "Real courage is when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what." Hope you enjoy these quotes. Next week will survey some of the awards presented in children's writing. Go To Page: 1
