Convincing CharactersTags are devices used by a writer to help identify a character. A tag might be a quirky mannerism, a unique gesture or a particular nervous habit. The possibilities are endless for the use of tags. They help develop your character into a believable individual. Characters must be given appropriate names. Do not use names that are so bizarre they detract from the story. Appropriate names help readers visualize your character. Consider the sound of your character's name. It should be pleasant sounding if the character is a pleasant person. It could be a harsh sounding name if the character is this type of person. Most stories are rejected because the characters are weak and unbelievable. Creating characters is the fun part of writing for children. You, the writer, can become anyone you choose!
