the hours pass without me even realizing it. The worst part can also be the actual writing part, when it feels like every word is a struggle. I also really enjoy the research. My next book is about the meaning of life, and boy did I have fun researching that!
11. SR: Can you discuss any new projects on the horizon? Just generally.
WM: JEREMY FINK AND THE MEANING OF LIFE is coming out in Fall '06, and it's my first book with a boy as the protagonist, so I'm very excited about that one.
12. SR: Please finish this sentence: "The best part of being a writer is....."
WM: ...that there are so many best parts! Working at home, having readers respond to something you write in a positive way, knowing that your thoughts and words are reaching people in far away places and hopefully having an impact on their lives.
