Reluctantly in charge of the family business, Nick Snowdon (Tom Cavanagh) quickly realizes that his new job is harder than he thought. With just three days before Christmas, Nick discovers that one of his reindeer, Buddy, has been kidnapped and sold to a California zoo.
Planning a rescue mission, and maintaining the Christmas delivery schedule becomes complicated when Nick develops feelings for Sandy Brooks (Ashley Williams), the zoo employee who has lost her holiday spirit. Aware that Sandy is the only one who can free Buddy, since she has the keys to the reindeer pen, Nick moves into Sandy's boardinghouse. There Nick meets the other tenants, including Lorna (Jackie Burroughs) and realizes that Sandy is not the only one who has lost the true meaning of Christmas.
However, it will take more than love and friendship to save Buddy. On Christmas Eve, Nick will have to race against time in order to free Buddy, find true love and save Christmas.
