Kids TV 2004: Intro

While it could be much better, this upcoming TV season looks pretty good for kids. This section of the Kids TV 2004 overview includes a variety of programs. In coming days, check out lists of upcoming kids reality shows, superhero themed shows, action-based shows, and preschool shows.

All of the times listed are for the Eastern Timezone, but many stations including Teletoon rebroadcast the shows at the same hour in the Pacific Timezone. If you don't see a "Premieres..." date listed, the show has already made its first airing, or simply the TV station is keeping the debut hush-hush.

Drake & Josh
YTV
Sundays at 6:00 pm
Premieres September 12

New to Canada, Drake & Josh is a hot new sitcom for teens, spun-off by the producer of The Amanda Show. A teenage odd couple, the two try to live together after their parents marry, despite the fact that school is their only thing in common. The antics are for both kids and parents. The series is Nickelodeon's highest rated sitcom in the past decade.

Co-star Drake Bell was actually named as "the next big thing" this summer by Teen Magazine.

Horrible Histories
BookTelevision

Based on the best-selling book series by Terry Deary, Horrible Histories follows the wacky adventures of Stitch and Mo, two everyday kids who, with the help of a portal through time, match wits with their nerdy nemesis, Darren Dongle. Along the way, they meet rotten Romans, terrible Tudors and vicious Vikings, all while discovering history in all its gross and gory detail! Horrible Histories is history with the nasty bits left in!

Knock First
The Family Channel
Weekends at 7:50 pm
Premieres August 28

Teenagers transform their outdated rooms into kickin' pads with the help of their best friends and a talented design crew in Knock First, a lightning-fast reality series executive-produced by David Collins (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy). Apparently, there's no major differences between this and any other renovation show, besides the age.

My So-Called Life
The Family Channel
Mondays to Thursdays at 11:00 pm

This critically-acclaimed but quickly cancelled show, starred Claire Danes as an introspective, angst-ridden 15-year-old. Produced by thirtysomething creators Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick; also starring Bess Armstrong and Jared Leto.
