Martin's Clouseau
to be introduced by a CG Pink Panther
In the upcoming Steve Martin revival
of The Pink Panther, the title cat will appear in the title sequence
as a 3D animated character. The people who brought you the entrancing main
titles to Tom Hanks pic Catch Me If You Can, London's Nexus Productions,
will do the honour of transferring the pink feline into the third dimension.
The animated Pink Panther's co-creator
and co-copyright owner, David DePatie, recently told AWN how he felt the
early CGI test made the character "look too round and chubby."
There's no talk at all of such a
move, but I'd love to see this movie spark a new television show of the
Pink Panther, similar to the short-lived efforts in the mid-1990s.

I mighty recon this
movie might get a little confusin', pard'ner
Everytime I see the name of the
upcoming 3D animated feature, The Tale of Despereaux: Being the Story
of a Mouse, a Princess, Some Soup, and a Spool of Thread, and yes,
that's its real name, even living in a relatively bilingual area of Canada,
I read it as "Desperado". I wonder how many people are going to demand
refunds, since the movie didn't include gunslinging cowboys.
Tale of Despereaux
name poll
After Curious George, Universal
Pictures and director Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) will release a movie
based on Kate DiCamillo's Newberry Medal-winner The Tale of Despereaux:
Being the Story of a Mouse, a Princess, Some Soup, and a Spool of Thread.
Should the movie go under a different name, and what should that be?
The options are (a) The Tale of
Despereaux: Being the Story of a Mouse, a Princess, Some Soup, and a Spool
of Thread, (b) The Tale of Despereaux, (c) Despereaux,
