Silverwing - Weekends at 7:00 pm EST on Teletoon, starts September 1
Canadian Kenneth Oppel's best-selling young adult novels take flight on TELETOON! Silverwing follows the coming-of-age story of a bat named Shade, the runt of his colony, who tries to prove himself by challenging the rules. Shade is determined to find out more about the Great Battle between the birds and the beasts that condemned bats to darkness. A trio of female characters tries to keep Shade out of trouble, including his mother, Ariel, the bats' wise leader, Frieda, and Marina, an exiled brightwing bat who joins their migration. Shade will need all the help he can get to fend off Brutus, leader of their enemies, the owls, and to defeat Goth, an evil vampire bat who uses supernatural powers in his quest to conquer the animal world.
This series for tweens looks and plays out absolutely stunningly; it's just visually a few notches away from being the level of a theatrically released movie.

Spider-Man - Weekdays at 9:00 pm EST on YTV, starts September 5
With MTV only a digital channel in Canada, this is the first time most Canadians have chance to see the new 3D cartoon. Focusing on the teen-angst of Peter Parker's college crowd, this show's much better written than kids of the '70s might remember. Though 3D, the show has a flattened colour palette to it, giving it a unique look.
Taina - Weekdays at 4:30 on CBC, starts September 1
Taking queues from the original FAME, it's a US sitcom set at a fictional New York performing arts school. Targeted towards girls.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Fridays at 6:30 pm EST and weekends at 4:30 pm on Teletoon, starts September 5
It started as a black and white, self-published comic book, and ended up become a legend. Two cartoons, one live-action show, three movies, a Walt Disney World stage show, and a popular line of toys are the sensation that was created.
