Natural is BetterSamuel Hahnemann, founder of Homeopathy, may be God’s gift to lovers of natural remedies and cures. Homeopathy is one practice that works with Mother Nature instead of against it. Homeopathy has been around for years and all over the world in countries such as Belgium, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, India, South Africa, and finally the United States in 1825. Homeopathy has made miracles believable again in young children suffering from all sorts of diseases. Asphyxia, birthmarks, bronchiolitis, colds, colic, birth defects, spina bifida, and umbilical hernia are a few ailments that remedies have been made for. The idea of homeopathy rests on the production of the same symptoms as those a sick person would complain of; two similar symptoms can’t exist in the same body. The most effective remedies are those that match three things: bodily symptoms, psychological and emotional symptoms, and sympathy for the person concerned. Remedies are readily available at some pharmacies and health food shops in the form of lactose pillules (milk sugar) that are injected with solutions of a remedy. Remedies are easily dissolved on the tongue. For babies and small children, granules that dissolve more easily are given, which is harder to spit out. Other forms are mixed in solutions and ointments, though there are few in ointment form. Dr. Andrew Lockie, author of The Family Guide to Homeopathy, recommends homeopathy for any illness. The practice of homeopathy has been checked for safety by government authorities. Poisoning is almost unheard of. Doses are given in low potencies, which provides an automatic safety feature. One would have to drink five liters above the potency of 3x before beginning to poison oneself. The thing to look out for are certain foodstuffs like alcohol, coffee, tobacco, minty flavorings, and essential oils used in aromatherapy because they could stunt the effects of the remedy. Check with a homeopath near you for more details or pick up a copy of these two books at your local library for more information.
