Fact: Studies indicate this is not true, that the childfree have a network of friends. Without children, it is also easier to focus on retirement planning, thus being financially able to afford whatever is necessary for elder care. 1. The childfree are selfish. Fact: A selfish person can become a parent, and sometimes the very reasons for having a child are suspect as being selfish. Scientific studies show no difference in selfishness between parents and non-parents. Childfree people can contribute in ways that parents may not have time to do - such as community work, volunteerism, and much more.
