With everyone’s favorite bunny on the trail really soon, I’m scrambling eggs to get some activities planned. Here are some suggestions for your Easter fun!
Sensory Table: Replace your sand and water table contents with fun Easter stuff. Our childcare is using Easter grass, eggs that come apart, little plastic baskets, little plastic bunnies and fuzzy chicks. The kids will have a blast playing in the grass, which is colorful and has a wonderful texture. Stuff grass or little plastic figures in the eggs for a fun surprise. The children can fill the baskets with the little goodies. The eggs can be hidden in the grass for an egg hunt. And you can always leave the regular sand toys in too for some added pouring and shoveling fun. Craft: Trace a set of bunny ears on construction paper. Cut them out and let the kids decorate them. Cut a band of paper big enough to go around the childs head and attach the ears to it. Hook it in the back with tape and you have an adorable bunny ears headband. It will be good for hours of dramatic play. The kids could make up their own Easter Bunny skits. For music and movement, wear your headbands, put on some music, and hop and bop till you drop! Don’t forget to color eggs. Even the youngest child enjoys it and you can put them in a baggie and send them home at the end of the day. Pick up some cute easter stickers to put on the eggs. It’s an easy way for the children to decorate their colored eggs. Games: Bunny Hop Play this game the same way you do DUCK DUCK GOOSE except that you hop instead of run. The child who is "it" walks around the circle and taps kids on their heads they would say "bunny...bunny..." and then they tap someone on the head and say "hop" that child is the new "it" who must hop to catch the child who was walking around the circle. Ducky Walkey Relay Race Have the kids line upon the start line. On GO they squat down and grasp their ankles with each hand from behind. Then waddle to a designated END LINE. They cannot let go of their ankles or they must start all over. Nosey Egg Roll Line kids up on clean floor. Have a relay race with kids rolling eggs only with their noses. Have an egg hunt on the playground or in your class or daycare area! Use those plastic eggs and hide candy in them. Go To Page: 1 2
