April 07, 2004 My granddaughter works at a waffle house in Sheffield, Al. Yesterday a truck driver in his fifties came in with a little girl about four years old. My granddaughter just got a strange feeling something wasn't right. There were lots of things said that didn't sound right, but the main thing was, when the man went to the bathroom my granddaughter asked the little girl her name. She said her old name was Kayla and her new name was Ada. The little girl seemed to want help, but couldn't say anything. My granddaughter called the police but since the little girl said something about being from Breman, they only checked in Breman Ga for an alert. If anyone knows anything about a missing girl with blond hair and brown eyes with a birthday in June who is about four years old please let me know. The man she was with had shoulder length gray hair and she called him Jessie.
I wish the police could have done more. Who knows if that child really was abducted, and where from. Why would a child's name be changed at such a young age? I still think about her and hope that if she was an abducted child, that she will continue telling people that her old name was Kayla and her new name was Ada.
After I read this post, I became obsessed with searching for a missing child named Kayla. I went to:
Missing Kids.org at:
http://www.missingkids.org/
There were 1,848 photographs to search through, some children missing as far back as the 60's. I searched for over 5 hours and found Kaila Berg's story. Kaila was reported missing on 6/16/03 from Bellevue, WA. I don't know why, but something possessed me to write to the lady who posted, and send her Kaila's story and picture. After all, this could be the "Kayla" who said her new name was Ada. Kaila's mother's name is Andrea. Ada might be a shortened version of Andrea. The lady who posted the message stated that the child's birthday was in June. Kaila's is in September, however, she disappeared in June. Maybe along with a new name, the child was given a new birthday too.
