Bambach Chair

A new piece of equipment has been developed in Australia. It is called the Bambach Saddle Seat. It is a seat that has be acquired by observation of children with cerebral palsy during Hippo therapy. It is used considerably in Australia and England. Dentists have started using it and it is now being used as an experimental study. For children in mainstream education. Most seating available in classrooms are standard seating. The Bambach Saddle Seat gives the child support and a strong symmetrical and upright body position while maintaining trunk control. Unlike, the standard seating available in mainstream classrooms. The Bambach has also been found to help inhibit abnormal tone,. When the child sits on the chair the hips are abducted and extended to 45 degrees with weight being taken through the legs. The chair is on wheels so the child is able to move around in the chair by moving there legs. Results have been effective. However, each child with cp has individual needs..
