University of Liverpool

The university two research centers of interest to Celtophiles: the Centre for Manx Studies and the Institute for Irish Studies. The Centre for Manx Studies offers a part-time MA in Manx Studies. The Institute for Irish Studies offers several degree options. Three undergraduate degrees are available relating to Irish Studies: Irish Studies, Irish Studies and English Language and Literature and Irish Studies and History. Irish is the only Celtic language available. It is also possible to do an MA, MPhil or PhD in Irish Studies.

University of Oxford

The Department of Modern Languages offers two undergraduate degrees, in Modern Languages and Modern Languages and Linguistics, in which Celtic languages can be a focus. There are several postgraduate opportunities in Celtic Studies: the MSt, a 1-year taught degree including a 10,000 word dissertation; the MPhil, a 2-year taught course with a 25,000 word dissertation; and the MLitt and Dphil, which are both full research degrees.
