A Review: EuroTalk Talk Now! Celtic Languages for Beginnersbenefit is that more than one person can use the CD, because it saves files on the computer for each student. In short, I do think this is an excellent way to pick up some basic vocabulary. Even if you are not a complete beginner this CD might be suitable for you: while the body and colors topics are fairly limited, the other topics contain an impressive number of vocabulary terms. There are about 40 food-related items to learn, and 45 'first words' and 30 phrases. So I would estimate that it would be possible to master more than 300 words and short phrases with this CD. Although it isn't geared specifically toward tourists, it would be very useful for such purposes (especially the first words, short phrases and food topics). This product can be ordered online, although this form is not very user-friendly at all. To view descriptions of the Talk Now CD for any of Irish, Scottish Gaelic, Manx, Welsh or Cornish, click on the Products button of the EuroTalk main site (a version specific to the US is also available, as is a Spanish version). Vocabulary builders for kids aged 3-10 are also available for Welsh and Irish. These two languages are also represented at the intermediate level in the World Talk series, although I will review this software some time in the future. * I'm going to be writing them a letter about this!
