Gayheart Settles Suit Actress Rebecca Gayheart has settled a wrongful-death lawsuit against her. The suit stemmed from a fatal accident last year that killed a nine-year-old boy. Jorge Cruz and Silvia Martinez, the boy's parents, requested that the terms of the settlement remain confidential. Rebecca's attorney says the terms were "amicable."

X is Axed Fan of The X-Files? Enjoy the show while you can. Creator Chris Carter says it's the last season for the show. This is the ninth year the show has been on the air and ratings began to falter after David Duchovny's departure. Look for the series finale in May.

Chung's Moving On Connie Chung is ditching ABC and heading to CNN. Part of the reason for the new job is more face time for Connie. ABC News wasn't willing to let her host her own prime time news show. CNN has promised her that opportunity. "I'm delighted to be part of an organization of dedicated journalists whose sole mission is to report the news every minute of every hour every day," Chung said.

Rush Can Hear Rush Limbaugh is back on his show. And he says he can now hear his listeners' comments. He told his faithful listeners back in October that he was practically deaf. He was diagnosed with an autoimmune ear disease. Last month he underwent surgery for a cochlear implant.

Carey Canned EMI's Virgin Records is buying Mariah Carey out of her $80 million recording contract. The penalty: a steep $28 million. The record company says it's just a budget thing and nothing personal. However, Mariah didn't take it that way. EMI issued a press release saying the company had terminated her contract. Then Mariah's publicist issued another statement saying both parties had agreed on the termination and that EMI's press release was a "direct violation" of their original agreement.

Just Say No Janet Jackson says she may call her touring career quits. She's currently touring for her latest album, All for You. But she says this may be the last Janet Jackson tour for her health's sake. "Touring is very grueling. It's very taxing on the body. Living out of your suitcase, going from city to city, night after night, it's a tough job."

Goody Two Shoes The '80s singer Adam Ant, best known for his song Goody Two Shoes, was recently institutionalized. He was committed to the psychiatric ward of a London hospital after a strange incident in a bar. Witnesses say Adam (real name Stuart Goddard) brandished a pistol in the bar. He was arrested and two days later he was committed. Adam says, "The whole thing's a conspiracy and they're just out to get me. I'm not mad."
